The Red Stone:
The Wasaru Stones Book 1

Someisa opened her eyes to find a large black panther staring her in the face. Frightened, she held her breath hoping the animal would go away. It didn’t.

With moments of deep introspection, too many mistakes to count, and the guidance of the black panther, two very wise grandmothers, a wood sprite, and a gruff ranger, Someisa struggles to save her people from an invasion of strange folk: ruthless, spider like, sentient creatures. The Accords for her planet forbid the use of violence against sentient peoples. Only the invaders don’t know that. Where do these strange folk come from and what do they want with her people? It becomes her job to find the answers to these questions and decide what to do about them. Along the way, she learns her mind has powers she didn’t know were possible. If you like the feel good, cozy fantasy genre, this book is a must read!

" In this exciting new series, Linnie Thomas, an award winning author, takes you on a journey of adventure and discovery in a world where violence is forbidden. The bad guys don’t know that. I couldn't put it down. "

"The Wasaru Stone is an amazingly fresh take on the fantasy genre with a truly unique story and voice. I don't normally read cozy-fantasy, but this book kept me turning pages, wondering what would happen next & intrigued by the many mysteries.... The characters are engaging and clearly formed alongside a magic system that is unlike any I've read before. If you like fascinating worlds and are looking for a unique spin on the genre, I highly recommend The Red Stone!
Don Elliott, author of the trilogy “The Story of Rain”
"A thoughtful, exciting and timely story providing a new direction to take the fantasy and sci-fi genre."
Steve Walker, screen writer
"I feel deeply grateful for cozy fantasy The Red Stone by Linnie Thomas. Within my first sitting, I couldn't wait to dive in again to her vibrantly real characters, enticing story line, and transformative concepts. Though fantasy,... I feel our world is so ready for the intriguing practices and often wise perspectives of the Cheschenaki people. I enjoyed every moment engaged in the world of Someisa, her community, and her intriguing companions. Linnie's skilled approach to revealing aspects of characters, cultural practices, and interwoven events, made me feel at home and deeply connected with the community, their journeys, and the mysteries they must resolve. I'm especially blessed to be pre-reading a draft of Linnie's second book in The Wasaru Stones series. I loved book one, and book two feels even more juicy. Of course, now I'm awaiting the draft for book three. Meanwhile, here's hoping we'll have book two in our hands by the end of the season of falling leaves! "

The Orange Stone

What happens when people who have never known violence or war, come face to face with people who kill, but cannot be killed?

How do you communicate with people who do not talk?

How do you explain emotions to metal men who have none?

Someisa explores these questions and makes friends with some delightful lizards along the way. Of course, the magical black panther, a wood sprite, wise grandmothers, four dragons, and seven rangers are there to help her, too.

I am a sixth generation Oregonian. I planned to study nuclear physics when I enrolled at Oregon State University, because I was looking for God. After two years of struggling through college level physics and chemistry and nearly failing calculus, I decided this was not the right path for me.

A class in metaphysics caught my interest, and I began a lifelong journey to seek out the answers to such questions as, why are we here? what is my purpose? and is there really a God? Many years passed before I got answers to my satisfaction. Some of those answers find their way into my books.

My seventh grade teacher read “Between Planets” by Robert Heinlein to our class after lunch. I have been hooked on sci-fi and fantasy ever since. However, I have gotten tired of all the violence found in most sci-fi and fantasy books today. So, I thought I would try my hand at a cozy fantasy and have gotten hooked on my own stories.
